CITIZENSHIP BY INVESTMENT PROGRAM
The Citizenship by Investment Program, running since 1993 and recently improved, offers the applicant and their family the most affordable route to full, legal citizenship through making an economic contribution to the country. Once granted citizenship an applicant and family members will be able to travel visa free to 91 countries including the UK, Switzerland, Singapore, Hong Kong and Ireland. On Thursday 28th May 2015 Dominicans were granted visa- free entry to Schengen states, allowing nationals of Dominica unrestricted access and stay in EU Member states up to 6 months per entry.
To qualify for citizenship by investment in the Commonwealth of Dominica the applicants are required to make a contribution via either of the following four options:
(a) An additional $15,000 (US Dollars) per child for children who have turned 18 years but are less than 21 years old.
(b) An additional $25,000 (US dollars) is required for any additional child over twenty-one years of age.

Currently the estimated processing time for a Citizenship by Investment in Dominica is around 5-14 months. An application is submitted to the Financial Services Unit (FSU) department of the Dominican Government department who review all submitted forms and supporting documents. There is a mandatory interview which an applicant must attend to fulfil the application process. As the interview commission meets only ONCE a month it can often lead to difficulties with allocating an interview slot and this can prolong the application process.
Typically the following documents are requested from each applicant including child dependents:
Please note that Regency Elite will provide and prepare these application forms and will assist clients with the right choice of supporting evidence. For further information on how the application process works, please contact us.
A peaceful, tropical paradise covered by rainforest with hundreds of waterfalls, rivers and lakes a wide variety of fauna and flora and remarkably unspoiled natural beauty earns the Commonwealth Of Dominica the title of the ‘Nature Island of the Caribbean’. Its tropical climate is a fertiliser for coconut trees, banana plantations, citrus and tropical fruits and coffee making agricultural export one of the main drivers of the economy. Tourism is, of course, another sector that generates large income for the country.
It is has also been named as one of the world’s happiest places to live. It offers a relaxed lifestyle within a safe, peaceful and unspoiled environment that is culturally vibrant and home to a warm, friendly community. Additionally, there is no wealth, gift, inheritance, foreign income or capital gains tax. A foreign investor is only liable to pay income tax if he resides and earns in the country. Furthermore, since Dominica is a member of double taxation treaties with the USA and CARICOM (an international organisation consisting of 15 member states in Caribbean promoting economic co-operation in the region) it allows for generous tax relief benefits and export allowance in the Caribbean.
